Craft Classes Need Volunteers and Supplies

Craft Classes are very popular at the Life Enrichment Center.  Many clients are on disability or are elderly and the craft classroom provides a sense of community and accomplishment as creative energy is put to use.
The current class size is limited to 12 particpants and primarily provides make’n take project options. This class is full almost every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and additional teachers are needed. Additionally, if volunteers are found, the goal is to start a second class focused on knitting and/or crocheting.  Here are the current needs to support the crafts class:
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays: 10-10:40 a.m. – volunteer teachers are needed to plan and guide up to 12 particpants through make ‘n take projects in the craft room. Schedule is based upon volunteer’s availability, but request a minimum cimmitment of twice a month.  Some materials are available.
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays: 10-10:40 a.m. – volunteer teachers are needed to teach knitting and/or crocheting. Schedule is based upon volunteer’s availability, but request a minimum commitment of twice a month. Currently yarn and needles are available.
  • The LEC can always use the following supplies in support of the crafts class for make ‘n take projects:
    • Beads
    • Glue
    • Craft sticks
    • Beading cord of any kind
    • Felt
    • Ribbon
    • Plastic canvas
    • Potholder loops
    • Fabric or acrylic paints
    • Fabric placemats
    • Yarn needles
    • Melty beads
Donations can be brought to the Life Enrichment Center Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or contact us to make other arrangements.
