Jeff Sorrell, Vice President/Executive Director

Founder of Life Enrichment Center
Jeff has been involved in outreach to the underserved for approximately 26 years, serving as a Chaplain at the Montgomery County Jail, ministering at the Lebanon Correctional Institution, Dayton Correctional Institution, M.C. Workhouse, Monday Program, Greene County Jail, Greene Hall Chemical Dependency Unit, Yale Manor, and various soup kitchens and street ministries. He has served as a Youth Pastor, Outreach Pastor and Director of Men’s Ministry. Jeff was born in Dayton, and has lived around the Miami Valley for most of his life. He is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. For Jeff, the Life Enrichment Center is the fulfillment of a dream for a multi-ministry center in the city of Dayton.

Rev. Steve Gill, President of the Board 
The Rev. Dr. Steve Gill is Director of Community Development for the YMCA of Greater Dayton. Steve has been a champion of holistic health and launched Journey to Freedom as a part of the YMCA and leads the design and data collection of cutting egde work on childhood obesity and malnutrition. He is working with local churches in the suburbs coaching formally homogenous middle class communityies on how to respond to the reality of sprawling poverty. Steve is married to Elaine and they have three grown children and four grandchildren.

Kim Belcastro, Secretary/Treasurer/Director of Administration

Kim, a native of Dayton, is married with three grown children. She serves on the Board of the Life Enrichment Center as Secretary/Treasurer, as well as volunteers on a daily basis as Director of Administration. Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. She has been; a Friendship Bible Coffees Leader, Bible Study Fellowship Treasurer, past president of the Auxiliary to the Dayton Academy Osteopathic Association, MVH Associates Council Member, Five Seasons Sports Club Board Member and has taught Sunday School for over 20 years. Kim recently completed NANC Biblical Counseling Level One and is a MVH NICU Steering Committee Member. Kim and her husband, Marc, attend Apex Community Church and Rediscovering Church Small Group.

Lori Simms, Board Member

Along with serving on the board of LEC, Lori serves on the Junior League of Dayton-Executive Board and Kettering City Schools-Board of Education. She has been a Dayton resident for 23 years and attends Southbrook Community Church. Lori is a homemaker as well as a current student at the University of Dayton.

Doug Badgley, Board Member
Doug has lived in the Dayton area for almost 40 years and operates Lighthouse Carpet and Flooring.  Doug is a graduate of Urbana University. He and his wife, Marsha, attend Far Hills Community Church and have 5 grown children and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
My involvement with the Life Enrichment Center has taught me to “Be still
and know that He is God”.

Tom Becker, Board Member

Tom Becker is the CEO of Becker Electric. He graduated from The Ohio State University and is a native Daytonian.  Tom  is actively involved in the commumity. He is a member of  the Dayton Rotary Club and serves on The Dayton Metro YMCA Board in addition to his service with the Life Enrichment Center. Tom is married to Ann and they have 3 wonderful children.

 

Bill Evans, Board Member

Bill Evans is pleased to be the newest member of the LEC Board of Directors. Bill has a BA in Social Work from UD and worked briefly at Montgomery County Juvenile Court after graduation.  He then bought a local bakery and ran a successful business, Evans Bakery for 35 years before retiring.  In 1999,  Bill became the Executive Director of the House of Bread, a rewarding ministry that he ran for 10 years, retiring again in 2009. Currently, Bill runs an enrichment program called SMART (Science and Math Attracting Ready Talent) that provides hands on practical application of the math and science related to the meal of the day. We are pleased to be conducting this program at the LEC for the benefit of the K.I.N.D. program students.

Bill has been a member of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul since 1971. He served as District Council President from 1986 to 1993 and is currently a member of their Community Board.  He is also currently a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Dayton and served previously on the North East Priority Board.  Bill is an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He has been married for 42 years to Rosemary and they  have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren.

Ralph Gamberdella, Board Member

Ralph Gamberdella is the Co-Founder and Director of Franchising of OinkADoodleMoo.  He has served in that capacity since June 2010.  In addition, he is Co-Founder and Vice President of the affiliate LLC and has served as has served in that role since September 2008. Ralph is a Graduate of Washburne Culinary Institute and Trained Culinary Chef. He has an extensive background as an Executive Chef in Fine and Casual Dining as well as Multi-unit and Franchise training.

Ralph has been married to Sheila since December 1990. They have three blessed children; Lauren, Nick, and Michelle. They all claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and have all been baptized. They attend Apex Community as their home church.  They have a heart for Family, community, and to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
