In addition to classes such as these, there are the twice yearly Health Fairs. The Health Fair offers health screenings (mammograms, cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, PSA and HIV) from various health care organizations.
GED Preparation
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is earned by passing a 5-subject test at an approved testing center. At the LEC, we have GED prep classes three mornings each week. This class is to help individuals that have not completed their high school diploma and want or need to earn a GED. Or for anyone who feels they need to review old and/or learn new skills.
Educational Opportunities
Informing clients about educational options past high school. This may include career testing, which tests the client’s interests, skills and abilities. Test results are reviewed with the client so the information can be made applicable to their own present situation. The Client may then advised on which schools / programs to attend, filing grant applications, student loans (including defaulted loans) and work-study programs.
