Rides4Seniors is a pilot program, coordinated by the Life Enrichment Center, in collaboration with key community partners and funded by the Del Mar Foundation, that launches in 2016.  Whereas existing programs provide mobility options for seniors in the Miami Valley, there remain significant “holes” in our region in terms of areas served, the times that transportation is available, and affordability for some seniors.  Rides4Seniors will pilot an internet-based ride matching service linking primarily low-income seniors in north East Dayton to volunteer drivers. The goal of the Rides4Seniors pilot is to expand this Uber-like solution to a regional transportation solution that is affordable for seniors without transportation.
