New Logo Revealed at Annual Banquet

Our annual fundraising event took place on Thursday and Friday, October 25 & 26, 2012 and included the first public unveiling of a new Life Enrichment Center logo.  Over 190 individuals attended the event (over 3 separate sessions) which included tours of the building, a sit-down dinner, and a presentation about the mission and vision of the Life Enrichment center.

Volunteers greeted guests and  gathered  them into groups for tours of the building. Groups were able to visit the fitness center, GED/ESL classroom, dining rooms, food distribution and pantry area, salon/shower area and the computer classroom. Guests were served appetizers at the conclusion of the tour and a blessing was offered before the meal.  A slide show of pictures rotated on the screen as youth from Teen Challenge Cincinnati served dinner , which was prepared by volunteers from First Christian Church of Huber Heights, led by the LEC kitchen manager Sherry Hardin. Evans’ Bakery generously donated the dinner rolls.

During dessert, Executive Director, Jeffrey Sorrell spoke about why he founded the Life Enrichment Center ten years ago and why reaching a ten year anniversary as a non-profit organization represents a significant milestone. A testimony video was shared and a new promotional video for the center premiered. Our new logo was revealed:  the left side represents health, growth and life while the right side of the heart represents education. Combined it represents the holistic mind, body, and spirit approach which the Life Enrichment Center embraces as we interact with the community and impact lives. The tag line, “because everyone has value”, is why we do what we do.

Then Board President, the Rev. Steve Gill spoke about the unique way in which the Life Enrichment Center operates – with a model of volunteerism that is unique in the city of Dayton. He explained that the Life Enrichment Center relies solely upon the generous donations of individuals and organizations as well as small project grants from foundations to function. Countless volunteers give daily, weekly or monthly of their time and energy. Financial gifts allow the doors to remain open (with heat and lights on) so that those volunteers are able to meet our clients’ needs. Each gift to the center is multiplied in its impact due to our amazing volunteers. He invited our guests to join as financial partners in support of the Life Enrichment Center.

Guest toured the Bike Shoppe after dinner.  Please take a look at the pictures below: just a sample of images from the evening.

Anyone desiring to take a tour of the LEC and learn more about what we do should contact the center and we will gladly make arrangements.

Many underwriters and sponsors helped to make the evening possible. Our heartfelt thanks go out to:
