Annual Banquet 2017 Wrap-up

Thanks to all those who supported and attended our recent Annual Banquet. This annual fundraiser provides a vital percentage of our annual operating budget! The program allows us to reflect on the past year and look forward to the future as we share this ministry with new friends and faithful supporters. If you were unable to attend this year’s banquet, some of the videos shared at the banquet are included in this post. The LEC Impact Report 2017 (pdf) was also shared with each guest. Photos from the event are in this linked Facebook photo album. If would still like to donate, please use the donate button on the right.

Executive Director, Jeff Sorrell, shared the many ways in which the Life Enrichment Center aims to create community, restore dignity, and provide purpose. The program also featured the verse from Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Together, these themes helped each person there to better understand the pressing needs of our community and what role we might play in meeting those needs.

Generous individuals, families, and businesses provided underwriting support so that every gift given in response to the banquet goes 100 percent to ministry support. Because of volunteers and in-kind donations, the majority of the underwriting funds also go to support the ministry as well! Thanks to the following:

Banquet Sponsors:

  • Badgley Family
  • Becker Electric
  • Belcastro Family
  • Brady, Ware & Schoenfeld, Inc.
  • CESO, Inc.
  • Lighthouse Carpet & Flooring
  • Mark Fornes Realty
  • Marla Vichich
  • Ohio Association of Building Contractors/ Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation
  • Multiple anonymous donors

Volunteers are at the heart of the Life Enrichment Center and the banquet is no different. Volunteers assisted staff in every aspect of the event — from planning to cooking, to serving in a variety of ways over the weeks leading up to the big event. Approximately 200 guests attended a dinner on Thursday or Friday evening or the breakfast program on Friday, October 6. Many hands made for a wonderful event!

Banquet Volunteer groups:

  • Good Shepherd Ministries for serving at both dinners
  • Cedarville Nursing Students for decorating and clean-up
  • Boy Scout Troop 286 for building the toolboxes for the centerpieces
  • University of Dayton REAL Dayton groups for set-up and multiple odd jobs
  • Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for washing dishes
  • MULTIPLE individual Life Enrichment Center volunteers for being greeters, tour guides, and pitching in wherever needed.
