Dayton, Ohio – Local Charity Receives $11,300 Grant

Dayton’s 100+ Men Who Care Group announced that a grant for $11,300.00 will be given to the Life Enrichment Center.  “I was pleased to sponsor this amazing organization,” said Charles Stoker, member of the 100+ Men Who Care and dedicated volunteer at the Life Enrichment Center.  “I am honored to be a part of Life Enrichment Center’s mission to fight the spread of addiction, hunger, and joblessness on Dayton’s East Side.  We empower individuals to set and achieve goals for themselves and to help them recognize that they, like everyone else, have value.”

Jeff Sorrell, who oversees operations at the Life Enrichment Center said, “This grant will go a long way toward helping us maintain and grow our operation and to continue to support those in need in East Dayton.  We greatly appreciate the kindness and generosity of the 100+ Men Who Care Group.”

Announcing the award was Joe Lehman, the 100+ Men’s Group volunteer administrator.  “We invite three charities each quarter to come and talk with our group and then we select the one that will be receiving our award via a simple majority vote.  This quarter, like most, we heard from three highly deserving charities and as usual, the vote was very close.”

Lehman added: “Each of our current 113 members commits to donating $100.00 each quarter.  Since inception in 2008, our group has given $430,500.00 to Dayton-area charities, all without operating or administrative expense.  I am delighted to be a part of this phenomenal group.”
