Volunteer Opportunities for Tax Season-Tax Preparer and Tax Greeter
February 02, 2021-April 14, 2021
Tuesday and Wednesday, 9am-12pm
Tax Preparer-Provide free tax return preparation for eligible taxpayers through the VITA (volunteer income tax assistance) program. Because of social distancing, tax preparers will not be directly interacting with clients this year. Online training and testing is required. Must be able to certify at the advanced level. Must be 18 years old or above.
Tax Greeter-Provide support to the site and volunteer preparers by screening all taxpayers to ensure the taxpayer has necessary information and documents required to complete a tax return. Greeter will check temperatures and ensure those entering are wearing a mask. Must be 18 years old or above. This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
